Modern feminism

Modern feminism is amazing.
Women can now work full time while also continuing to manage most childcare, household logistics and family mental load.

Equality ❤️

Honestly the system works beautifully.

You can really feel it when a mother is simultaneously replying to Slack, making dinner, remembering tomorrow is green day at kindergarten, and negotiating with a three-year-old who refuses to wear certain shoes because the shoes are “feeling sad.”

But it’s empowering because now women get to experience professional burnout and domestic burnout at the exact same time.

Very efficient.

Personally I especially enjoy transitioning directly from: “Happy to circle back on this!” to: “We do not lick the dog!!”

Really keeps the nervous system flexible.

And if mothers ever admit they’re overwhelmed, someone eventually appears to explain:

“Well… women wanted this.”

Yes.

I’m sure generations of women fought for equality specifically so one day mothers could answer work emails at 9:47pm while eating cold pasta over the kitchen counter, surrounded by tiny socks, abandoned oat milk glasses, one damp stuffed animal and the emotional aftermath of 14 completely unnecessary arguments about bedtime.

Dream achieved.
